Diet Pills – Your Best Choice for a Healthy Life

Weight control is a very common issue among american citizens, this is mainly due to the fact that most keep a sedimentary life which lacks physical activity and the food consumed has and excess of trans-fat and other oils which create an imbalance in the body. Keeping a healthy life style is necessary to extend our life span, there have been several documentaries shown on TV about this topic in particular, it has also been said that people need to reduce their calorie consumption in order to prolong their life spans, however this can’t be taken to the extreme were our calorie intake is cut drastically.

Keeping a healthy lifestyle involves regular exercise, having a healthy-well balanced diet and using safe methods for weight loss in case you have gone over the recommended weight according to your physical conditions, this means that everyone’s weight is relative to their height, age and gender; for instance the ideal weight for a male who is 168 cm tall (5′6”), 24 years old should be around 150 pounds; a female with the same weight and age should be around 125-135 pounds, which would be her ideal weight. The medical recommended weight for the same female would be between 118 and 156 pounds.

As you see the ideal weight changes from person to person, so hearing that someone weights 170 pounds is not enough information to determine whether that person is within his/her ideal weight limit or if the person is overweight. If the individual is indeed overweight then the best method to loose weight is to start using diet pills in combination with a healthy workout routine.

Diet pills suppress hunger and sometimes even thirst which is why some of these pills are considered diuretics, while taking over the counter pills it is also recommended to drink plenty of liquids to keep your body well hydrated and that in term will also help you loose weight.

Using diet pills which require a prescription is not recommended unless you have the proper clearance from your doctor; in extreme cases when the person is morbidly obese doctors may suggest surgery to save the patient’s life; in all other cases natural diet pills are the best choice to live a healthy life.

How to Have a Long Healthy Life

In my book, ‘Secret Gateway to Health’, I explain how the mouth is one organ that makes an impact on every other organ.  No health guru talks about the importance of the mouth on this level, but it’s true.  If you neglect it, it will affect your general health one way or another.

One of my patients, Joan was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). She suffered excruciating stomach pains that sent her to the emergency room. What Joan and her doctor didn’t realize was that her IBS symptoms were triggered by problems stemming from her mouth. Most of Joan’s back teeth were missing.

Consequently, Joan was unable to chew her food properly; this did not cause, but exacerbated her IBS troubles.

Another patient, Mike suffered from a loss of his sense of balance for years. He also had tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Doctors were unable to find the cause of his problems. Had Mike seen a dentist, he would have learned that his symptoms were typical of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD); a disorder that could have readily been cleared.

Randy came to see me for a routine dental visit.  He had been on and off painkillers for months trying to deal with chronic sinus headaches. His physician found no sinus infection present. Yet the pain persisted.

If Randy’s doctor had sent him to a dentist, the source of the pain could have been located: a tooth needed to be pulled, which was an upper back tooth (molar) positioned very close to the sinus area. The dentist might have saved Randy’s tooth along with his pain, but he had waited too long to seek proper treatment.

John was in his early 50s and was recently diagnosed with arteriosclerosis (hardened arteries).  Lucky for him, his cardiologist sent him to the dentist for a check-up.  The cardiologist knew the relationship between heart disease and gum disease (periodontal disease).  When I examined him, sure enough, John had advanced gum disease.  He was a heart attack waiting to happen.

Now that he knows the connection and is staying on top of his mouth health, John’s heart attack risk has been minimized.

Bird’s Eye View into Your Body

None of the people in the cases described above considered the fact their mouths could be the cause of their maladies. What would you think if I told you every single person has the ability to look inside his or her body and get a bird’s eye view towards what state of health he or she is in?

You see, your mouth is really a microcosm of your whole body.  It’s like getting a glimpse of the total picture of health or illness.

Risk of heart disease, stroke, lack of energy, even problem pregnancies is now linked to oral health.

Taking responsibility for your health is more crucial than ever.  Start by taking better care of your mouth, which is the entrance to your body, and the secret gateway to health.

As far as I’m concerned, it is also the most important thing you need to know for a long healthy life.

Natural Supplements for a Healthy Life

Everyone wants to live a healthy life, but sometimes an on-the-go lifestyle can make that goal extremely difficult. Energy levels wane, and times of stress and extra demands make it harder to eat well and get enough sleep. Over time, this can wreak havoc on the body and its functions, including the immune system.

It can all too easily become a vicious cycle of feeling low and trying to combat your fatigue with all of the wrong tools.  People want a quick pick-me-up so they use caffeine as a stimulant, or they grab a donut for a sugar rush. This only makes sugar levels in the blood crash even harder later, leaving the person feeling worse than they did before and reaching for yet another cup of coffee or another donut.

Instead of repeating this detrimental cycle, try supplementing your routine with green tea instead of coffee.  The properties of green tea are beneficial in so many ways!  Green tea contains phytochemicals with wonderful antioxidants. Some researchers believe the antioxidant properties of green tea to be stronger than those found in fruits, vegetables and berries.  Green tea also suppresses appetite, and this of course helps in maintaining a healthy weight.  Finally, there is a calming effect for most green tea drinkers, and no danger of over-indulging in this supplement.  There is a mild caffeine level in green tea, so one should be aware and not drink enough to become affected by the caffeine.  For the most part, though, the benefits far surpass any possible negative element of green tea.

Another natural supplement that can contribute to a healthy life is vitamin E.  Vitamin E is metabolized in fat, unlike some vitamins which are water soluble and leave the body soon after digestion.  Because of this, you do not need to supplement with vitamin E as often or as heavily as you do with some other supplements.  This vitamin is not found as readily in popular foods as some other vitamins such as vitamin C or vitamin A, which makes it a great candidate for supplementation.  Vitamin E is important for good cardiovascular health, and is also a factor in healthy skin and nails.  Some people have been known to use Vitamin E topically, as the capsules can be broken open and used directly on the skin to heal and soothe.

Whey protein is another supplement that you may not consider when you think of taking something ‘extra’ to meet your nutritional requirements.  However, in this day of overloading with carbohydrates and eating fast foods, many people have a difficult time meeting their protein requirements for the day.  This is not only true of vegetarians!  It is very easy to mix up a protein shake in either milk or water; mixing it in milk adds about ten more grams of protein.  While protein powders come in various forms such as egg protein, whey (milk) protein and soy protein, whey isolate is the most easily assimilated by the body and probably your best bet.  It comes in delicious flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and even odd dessert flavors like cookies and crème.  These shakes are tasty and low calorie, and offer upwards of 30 grams per shake along with a number of essential amino acids.

Another supplement gaining in popularity is probiotics, and with good reason. Probiotics are a great way to keep your intestines healthy.  They help to maintain the good bacteria in a healthy digestive tract, and can replace the good bacteria in the colon that is lost through consumption of preservatives, toxic food substances and other environmental dangers.  Some of these supplements need to be refrigerated, as the cultures are live and need to be kept in a certain temperature.  However, you can find probiotics that are easily kept without refrigeration and have a longer shelf life.

The latest in supplements that pack a great nutritional punch are drinkable greens.  Many people (try as they might) do not like the taste of vegetables and refuse to eat them despite their important role in a healthy diet.  With greens in supplement form, you can get all of the benefits and antioxidant properties of a great number of vegetables in one shot.  Some are available in pill form, but most are drinkable powders that offer up a wide array of vegetables, fruits, and other whole green foods into a serving the size of a tablespoon.  The taste may take some getting used to, but the health benefits are worth making the adjustment.  There are virtually no calories in greens you can drink, but they have more nutrient value than virtually anything else you can consume in such a small quantity!

These are just some of the important and basic supplements that, when incorporated into an otherwise healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise, can go a long way to help you live your healthiest and longest life possible.  If you are new to the world of supplements, these few are a great place to start!
